Over the week-end, Manny Pacquiao versus Juan Manuel Marquez sized up once again for another bout, and it all took place at the MGM Grand Garden before Hollywood’s A-list community. Pacquiao who was paid a reported $25 million to fight Marquez(paid $6 million)surprised many when he was knocked out at the end of the sixth round. What is going on with Pacquiao, this is not the first fight he has lost. The other fight Pacquiao lost was not too long ago. How can he beat Floyd Mayweather if he continues on this path of struggle ?
Pacquiao being knocked out by Manuel Marquez is sure to see the pockets of many who waged on Pacquiao lighter. As Marquez connected with a punch to Pacquiao’s chin that knocked him out cold to the ring floor, Pacquiao’s wife who was close to the ring screamed out in fear of the unusual up and close encounter her husband was facing with the ring floor.
After the fight, Marquez had this to say about knocking out Pacquiao:
“I knew Manny could knock me out at any time. “I threw the perfect punch. We always work on that [counter right]. The change in rhythm was important. We knew he was going to come out aggressive, so we had a fight plan that was more technique and we were able to capitalize on it. We knew it would be a very difficult fight, but not an impossible fight. We had to use our technique and skill and we didn’t allow Manny to connect as he had done”
Here is what Pacquiao had to say of his knockout:
He caught me with my hand down,” Pacquiao said. “That was an error and we corrected it. We worked strength, we worked speed and you can see the result. I got hit by a punch I didn’t see”
Romney who ran for President lost to Barack Obama, and it appears that he still has that losing spirit and bad vibe surrounding him, because reportedly Romney met Pacquiao before the fight and said some negative unwanted spew just before the champ defended his title. Romney supposedly said this to Pacquiao before he stepped into the ring with Juan Manuel Marquez: “Hello Manny. I ran for president. I lost.” Who says that to someone that is getting ready for a big moment. Romney’s comments to Pacquiao is far from motivating. Wonder if Romney had a bet on Marquez ?
